By Tanja Dordevic

The current civilization can’t run on. Its foundations are at odds with reality. The Society is based on application of the technique“- could be said about work of  young Serbian artist Zeliko Baric. Working with two universal elements: metal and fire, Baric creates the forms that can oppose a resistance to time. His works include three stages of evolution, that consist the sculptures of resistant  materials too.

First one is a Biped, that is symbiosis of human being, Tv , chicken and an insect. It represents the first mutation of forms related to biological and technological equipment. Thanks to a program that “sees” and “recognizes” the people, Biped follows you.

Insects are belong to the second part of evolution process, which are also mutants, but biological rather than mechanical. These sculptures are examples in which artist looking for  to understand the iconic shape and the real geometry that are always present in nature.  Insects must be durable, always present.

The cycle which connects  to the insects, represents the Fossils. These sculptures summarize the history of civilization and are full of symbolic value. Burning  dvd players, recorders and computers,  Baric  tried to change its purpose and to fossilized technology.

This is a dramatic story of contemporary world-the collapse!
