Andreas Kipar, president of Scientific Committee Green City Italia, discussed  about building more sustainable and green cities, in particular the focus was on the city of Milan and its province, with the other speakers who are directly involved in these initiative.

Furthermore, this was the first step in preparation for the European forum of the Green Cities “Toward the cities of the future”, which will take place on June the 4^th , during the International Festival of Environment (3^rd-6^th June 2010). The forum will involve the five European partners of Green City, which subscribed their first agreement at the European Council of Strasburg on the October 26^th, 2009, through the representatives of the cities of Berlin, London, Paris, Amsterdam and Milan, as well as the emblematic case of New York City.

Green City Italia has chosen to support the project Life Gate’s Impatto Zero®: thanks to this agreement it has been possible to reduce and compensate the CO2’s emissions, caused by the event itself, creating and safeguarding 2000mq of new forests in Madagascar.

As for Green Life – Building Sustainable Cities is an international exhibition showcasing urban development projects based on sustainability and eco-friendly building techniques. At Green Life we can show what has already been done or is in the process of being done in architecture in Italy and the rest of the world (Europe, China, the US, and elsewhere) to create urban ecosystems that are sustainable for the planet.

It is an opportunity to talk about what it is already possible to do today in an area which includes all the languages, methods and materials involved in construction.  Design will become more and more influenced by the need for integrated management of energy, water, waste, transportation and logistics, in terms of both requirements and savings, right from the earliest stages of urban renewal and planning.

Shortly after her arrival in Italy, Sung Hee studied a diploma of Centro di formazione professionale in Parabiago – a school for the specialization of professional shoe design and shoe pattern design.

On completion of this diploma she started to work as a shoe pattern designer at calzaturificio International designers in Parabiago. well known for producing reputable brands such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Alberta Ferretti, John Richmond and Rena Lange. She also gained valuable experience designing shoe patterns whilst working for John Richmond in Moschillo showroom.

In her collection, we can observe the great level of attention given to conception and creation of unique sytles and sophisticated details. Whilist also maintaining a strong focus on the quality and technical comport of footwear.

Sung Hee has always found extraordinary beauty in the Italian shoes similar to sculpture. With her designs, she particularly enjoys working with colors and materials and the creation of styles often starts from materials.

Moneta Blu comes from one  fable read when young designer was about 10 years old. “A kid was very afraid of water. One day his grandfather came over to see him and knew that his niece was not able to swim. The grandfather gave him one coin never seen before saying that this coin got the power, so some kind of magic will make him swim. The kid put it in the pocket of his swim-suit and decided to try getting into the water and started to swim. Unbelievably there was no problem at all“.

- This small story tells me that if you believe in yourself and in the ability that you have, there is nothing impossible. I believe this coin will give me the courage. And to also somebody who puts on Moneta Blu shoes as well-  said  Sung Hee Son.

Awards for her work have spanned the decades including those from Communication Arts Illustration Annual in 1984, Society of Illustrators “Best of Fashion Illustration” for three awards in 1993, and again in 2006 for Best of Illustration. She considers her full roster of clients award enough and enjoys drawing fashion more than anything.

“It’s the combination of colors, line and shape with the human form and the personality. Nowhere but in fashion, do you get that explosive combination,” Julie says. “Not only do I love drawing fashion, but I love the people that stand out as personalities in fashion, who exude their own creative, and oftentimes, outrageous style. Dancers, performers and anyone who is comfortable in their own skin are also favorites of mine to draw.”

Her skill at drawing the figure has pulled her into other areas for clients such as book covers for romance novels by Jackie Collins. Her portrait of Anna Wintour for the cover of a book on the fashion editors life was captured in a few quick strokes of brush and ink. Her work has been seen in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune Magazine, the New York Times, Womens Wear Daily, and on posters, beauty products, and inside books by Oprah Winfrey.

Julie Johnson has lived in both New York City and San Francisco for over twenty years. She is now settled in the Midwest of the United States, enjoying how the internet makes it easy to find clients internationally and working out of an art studio that is converted from an old brick school house in the middle of beautiful farmland.

During the month of April 2010, look for her work to be on billboards and walls throughout New York City’s Union Square subway station. Eighty-eight separate ads will showcase her fashion drawings for Filene’s Basement, a discount retailer in the United States.

Italy is recognised for its excellence in leather accessories and so taking a course in Italy, especially in the capital fashion of Milan, exposes students to a very rich market of high-end bags and shoes.  Many fashion schools are now offering shoe and bag design courses which often do not get the attention they deserve, but often they lack the necessary industry contacts.

This is how this young fashion designer moved to Greece and got signed in I.E.K Intergraphics Collage of design in Athens. Then continues with the Middlesex University Fashion studies program for BA in Fashion.

During the studies she had worked backstage and got precious knowledge in fashion industry. She is involved in a local free press fashion magazine on various tasks as trend analysis, fashion reports, different articles, fashion editing etc.

Working independently, serbian designer has started her own brand called DaRousso. The new collection for spring summer 2010 had been awarded with the BEST CATWALK AWARD from the Athens Xclusive Designers Week in Athens.

Dedicated to modern and eccentric women this collection return the time to the past trying to bring us closer to the nature. The designs have simple line, but they are not simple. The designs involve structural construction on ropes and decorative details.

Surely inspired by the local ethnic details, the colors used are earth colors with deep symbolism: beige, green, brown, white, orange, blue, red. On the other hand the collection is following the demand of the modern economical situation to be easy fitting to different body types, so they are slightly universal to a modern woman and her everyday rhythm. Furthermore, this collection consists of handmade jewelry inspired by the African art that is so needed detail to complete the whole collection.
