Colourful and user friendly, Alessi Watches runs through the company’s wristwatch history beginning with Aldo Rossi’s 1985 “Momento”. Since then many other well-known names from the worlds of design and architecture have willingly taken on the challenge of giving time a designer dimension. Such maestros include Achille Castiglioni, Alessandro Mendini, Ron Arad, Ettore Sottsass and Patricia Urquiola.
Alessi Watches represented one of the Crusinallo-based company’s first collaborations with other businesses launched in the 2000s. Thanks to this venture, the partnership with Japanese Seiko has given rise to the largest collection of designer watches for men, women and, as of this year, children too.
A mix of different alphabets, like unique sculptures in terms of form and time. A range of brilliant colours brighten the straps and dials. The hands are very fine or young and fun. Dials that seem to have delicate bubbles of water where the hours should be. Precious straps with shiny steel or black bracelets.
The new collections for 2008 are designed by Miriam Mirri, Franco Sargiani, Stefano Pirovano, Hani Rashid.
The first designer to have taken on this demanding task is Miriam Mirri with her Millennium jr. range. “The idea of describing time to young children seemed like a good way of saying that you never really run out of time”, explains Miriam whilst describing her latest challenge, dominated by pastels, with little houses and trees as hands, soft forms and lively colours.
A new and important chapter has been added to the history of the Alessi Watches catalogue: the “Alessi Watches kids” collection. A new challenge that stands out for its magic, colour, design and precision. A collection of watches for little men and women who grow up learning to read the time.
Six models to satisfy all tastes. Playtime, teatime, homework time…thanks to Alessi our children’s time is even more colourful and precious!
